Slept In Days

The sun don't ever shine
you should be doing better,
she said to me
watching from my window in the empire state
if you stand here now
you're just in my way
So wont you watch and learn all of my twisted ways
all along 'til now I hadn't slept in days
I'm sitting in the station its almost my time
I can't wait until tomorrow its the end of
the stars don't ever shine,
on a man only lies
no need for progress, being stale is fine
I'm casting all my shadows, set to the wayside
never mind now, whats hers is mine
So wont you watch and learn all of my twisted ways
all along 'til now I hadn't slept in days
I'm sitting in the station its almost my time
I can't wait until tomorrow its the end of
So wont you watch and learn all of my twisted ways
all along 'til now I hadn't slept in days
I'm sitting in the station its almost my time
I can't wait until tomorrow its the end of

St. Paul
03:28
|
|||
She was the girl that could have changed me,
at least that's what I thought.
The one that could have saved me,
now that chance is gone.
The spring time is falling down,
like the curtains on my eyes.
Tattooed like that summer seemed to be,
Now I'm left behind.
I hope Saint Paul treats you well,
she's gone and gone away.
The apple of my eye, The thorn in my side.
Telling me that I should give in.
It was the days that could've helped us.
out there on the tide
somewhere in the carolinas
but now I'm left behind
The spring time is falling down,
like the curtains on my eyes.
Tattooed like that summer seemed to be,
Now I'm left behind.
I hope Saint Paul treats you well,
she's gone and gone away.
The apple of my eye, The thorn in my side.
Telling me that I should give in.
I hope Saint Paul treats you well,
she's gone and gone away.
The apple of my eye, The thorn in my side.
Telling me that I should give in.

Machine Gun
03:18
|
|||
I went and bought a machine gun,
but I don't know what for,
it doesn't really matter, All my friends are anti-war
Maybe I can sell that for some seeds to plant a tree,
I know it might seem roundabout but its a way to bring the peace.
It's like taking pictures just to throw the film away,
and The scarlet sunset makes a ghost of day
now I'm chasing shadows; the ones i lost in the sand
I can't clear my head from all those words she said
She said that "I hate baseball, Jazz and apple Pie"
Lucky Lindy ain't no hero, just ask his secret wife?
Maybe I can sell that for some trees to plant a seed,
I know it might seem roundabout,
but its a way to bring some f*cking Peace
It's like taking pictures just to throw the film away,
and The scarlet sunset makes a ghost of day
now I'm chasing shadows; the ones i lost in the sand
I can't clear my head from all those words she said
"Our Theaters soon became filled with plays portraying the glory of war.
Newsreels lost all semblance of objectivity.
Newspapers and magazines began to lose advertising if they carried anti war articles.
A smear campaign was instituted against individuals who opposed intervention.
Men lost their jobs if they were frankly anti war."
I went and bought a machine gun,
but I don't know what for,
it doesn't really matter, All my friends are anti-war
